How many runners can run this year’s CY 4 Miler?

We are capping the race at 2500 runners.

How do I register?

Assuming we have not sold out yet you may register either online (click here), in person at any of the packet pick up locations, or day of the race at Midtown Autowerks at 795 S. Cooper St. Memphis, TN 38104.

What is the easiest way to register?

Registering online is the easiest way to sign up

Can I register for a t-shirt only?

Yes, choose “Spirit Runner” as your registration category.

Can I pick up a packet for a friend of family member?

Yes, but you will need the person’s birth date.

Are credit cards accepted at packet pick ups?

Yes

Am I guaranteed a race shirt?

All pre-registered participants are guaranteed the race shirt size they requested during the registration process. Race Day and Packet Pick up sign ups are not guaranteed the shirt size of their choice. Shirts will be given on a first come first serve basis. We will do our best to get everyone the shirt size they want.

What type of shirt is included with my registration?

The CY 4 Miler race shirt will be a long sleeve Zorrel Dri-Balance tee. Click here an image of this year's shirt. In the past, this shirt has run a bit larger than normal. Please, please see question/answer below about changing your shirt size after registering!

Will I be able to change my shirt size?

You will not be able to exchange your shirt until after the race. You will be given the shirt size you ordered during registration, sorry but no exceptions.

What will we receive at packet pick up?

You will receive your race shirt, and a race number with timing chip.

What type of timing is being used?

Start 2 Finish will be timing the 2015 CYCA 4 Miler. When you receive your race number, your timing tag will be affixed to your bib number. Please do not remove the timing tag from the back of your bib number.

Race Day Questions

Where is the race located?

The race starts under the CY Trestle art on Cooper St. and York Ave. 769 South Cooper Street, Memphis, TN 38104. See event map HERE!

What time does the race start?

7 pm on Friday, September 16th, 2016

What if it is raining on race night?

The race will still happen. There might be a possible delay due to lightning or other inclement weather, but the race will still happen if it is only raining.

When should I get to the race site?

You should plan to arrive earlier than normal. If you have not picked up your packet, you should plan to arrive by 5:30 pm. If you have already picked up your packet, you should plan to arrive no later than 6:00 pm.

Driving your car and want to know where to park?

Parking is terrible for this race due to the surrounding available parking spaces. Please plan accordingly. If you can carpool, do so. If you can ride your bike to race site as a warm up, do so. If you have to drive, please, please try everything within your power to not park on the race route. We ask our residents to not do so also for your benefit. Please see event map HERE for the best places to park.

Are baby joggers/baby strollers allowed in the race?

Yes, please start towards the end of the pack.

Are walkers allowed to participate?

Yes, please start towards the end of the pack.

Are runners allowed to run with dogs?

Dogs are not allowed.

When are the awards?

Award will be distributed at 8:30 pm

Who gets awards and what are the awards?

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in all age groups. Special awards to Overall, Masters and Grand Masters male/female, also Wheelchair division. 5” medals with custom lanyards. Plus they serve as bottle openers!

BEER, BEER, BEER - Please Read!!

All participants who wish to drink beer will have to obtain a stamp. Proper ID will have to be shown to be given a stamp! Staff will be on hand at the party site prior to the race to get your stamp so that you will not have to wait after the race. Please try to get your id check and stamp prior to the race start if you can!!!

Post Race Party Access - Please Read!!

Will I or my family be allowed into the post race party if I do not have a race bib? If you have a participant bib on you will be allowed to access the post race party, see above for beer rules though. If you or a guest do not have your race bib but would still like to go to the post race party you may make a donation to the Cooper-Young Community Association of $5 per person.

What's all this about the Virtual Race Bag!

All event participants will receive and email from Virtual Race Bags! We have partnered with Virtual Race Bags to produce a ‘virtual goody bag’ in an effort to ‘go green’ and provide additional benefits to our participants. As a participant of this year’s event you will receive a ‘Welcome’ email invitation to the Virtual Goody Bag prior to the event giving you access to the bag. In the bag you will find an array of valuable information including exclusive offers, coupons, giveaways and messages from our sponsors.

But wait, there’s more! After the event, participants will receive a ‘Thank You’ email invitation to visit their bag and have a final opportunity to take advantage of the offers before the bag closes - as the bag is only available for a limited time.
